Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2: Advanced Warfighter Review
So I purchased a motherboard for my computer project, and in the motherboard package came a free copy of this game. So I decided to try it out. Having played several FPS games I figured it wouldn't be too hard to understand and would be mildly entertaining. This is not the case at all. I found the introductions to the missions extremely lengthy to the point where I opted to bypass them as they would drone on for several minutes about backstory which seemed to be pointless. When I finally got dropped into the mission by a helicopter there were very few hints as to what I should be doing. Initially I ran off on my own, thinking my team mates would follow me. But alas they wont follow you unless you give them the order to... And you have to learn how to give the order, which is something they don't tell you. After I figured out how to order my troops around, it became a little more interesting, but only a little bit. That quickly fell away when we got to the first objective and I had to use the same on screen order system to try to pilot a recon vehicle. All while under fire. To top this all off, sometimes I would back into buildings and get stuck in the walls, causing the computer to crash. To me, it seems like the PC Version of this game was a really bad console port, and I wouldn't recommend anyone play this game on the PC unless you have a high tolerance for pain.
