Big news stories like this are becoming more and more frequent. And what is not reported widely is that this is happening more and more often when the news doesn't cover it. I personally have access to several video feeds from various public sources which display very similar acts occurring in completely different cities. You might even be mistaken at thinking that the same kids are involved in each incident.
The media will tip toe around these issues in light of the fact that they do not want to be labeled as being racists. But the majority of these incidents are done by 'minorities'.
Let's be honest. This epidemic is almost wholly among the minority community, and in particular the black community. Everyone is too gutless to admit it, but this has to be addressed. It's not racism, it's truth. There is a pathology in... the black community (don't snitch) that needs to be dealt with swiftly and firmly. The law enforcement community is cynical, however, the white community is trying to turn a blind eye but is subtly training law enforcement.
The common consensus is that the black and hispanic cultures are criminals and troublemakers. Why is that? I know several black and hispanic people who are hard working, honest, good people. But there is a problem in America which stems from its roots. The African American culture has very little positive culture to draw upon. Where as Caucasians of European Backgrounds, have cultures which go back a thousand or more years. The African Americans were harvested from the tribal villages of Africa and brought to America for the slave trade. I imagine the culture shock for them was horrible. But regardless many of their ancestors had never lived in a proper house. Or never sent their kids to school.
Often in African tribes, the children would be raised by many mothers in a clan like setting. Allowed to roam through the tribe freely, children were expected to learn from the land, and learn from their elders and each other. Meanwhile at the same time in England, male students were studying the most advanced schooling of their time, and female children were being raised by their mothers as maidens, or housewives. For both sexes a fair degree of politeness, social manners and charm was often raised into them.
Back in present time however, the US Government is not doing anything to help this situation. By making school easier for minorities by dumbing it down for everyone, they are just making the problem even worse. Right now a lot of the issues have to deal with financial aid programs. The government says; "hey, if you have a baby we will give you more welfare!" So low income minorities are like 'hellz yeah, lets get laid'. They pop out a child, and get more money, from which they can use to buy smokes, or beer, or drugs... or fancy cars. But what happens when they want to put cool rims on that fancy car? I guess its time to pop out another child! Yay! more money from the government!
While I am sure I am prejudging a lot of the minority population by suggesting that, I do believe that there is a decent portion who do that to feed off of the system. And often those children are neglected and left to fend for themselves and raise themselves on the streets, like their African ancestors did. Except instead of a tribe, they form a gang.
How do we solve this? Fact is, we really can not. It is not possible to solve this situation by conventional means anymore. The culture is so ingrained, and the problem so widespread, it is just too far gone. Cutting financial aid might force them to try to earn an honest living. But I think you would likely have a shit-ton of human rights lobbyists who would put a stop to something that drastic from happening. But really, that is the only hope to wean the nation from welfare and encourage educational and economic growth.
