The Omega
In wolf packs, the Omega wolf is the lowest ranking wolf in the pack. Generally the Omega is the wolf which is picked on, and which other wolves let out their frustrations on. Omega's exist in other 'packs' as well. For example many Human social groups will have an Omega within them. Someone people gossip about and quarrel with. In a way this is needed in any group, to be able to take out aggression on a single individual. Sometimes this aggression is warrented, other times it may not be. But this is how the social world works.
