POTD: Hogg's Hollow Bridge
Hogg's Hollow Bridge in Toronto, Ontario is a bridge few people really think about. Hundreds of thousands of people utilize it every day, most don't even realize they are on a bridge, I bet. It is a major passageway for traffic traveling across Toronto on the 401. It is actually 4 bridges, 2 in each direction, all together carrying 14 lanes of traffic. Notice in the photo there are even piers specifically built to float between the bridges and support the massive street lamps used to illuminate the highway at night. An interesting factoid is that this bridge is the busiest multi-span bridge crossing in North America, surpassing even the Brooklyn Bridge.
