POTD: CKFM TX - Solid State
I was involved in the installation of some new Nautel solid state transmitters for both CFRB and CKFM back in the day. This is a photo of CKFM's transmitter. CKFM is now Virgin Radio, 99.9, but at the time it was Mix 99.9. In this photo, you see the BNC coaxial cables from each low power module, coming towards the center where they are connected to a combiner which combined the power of the signals into the roughly (what I can recall was about) 26 KW output which feeds the CN Towers communal combiners eventually outputting an ERP of about 350 KW.
