July 30th Adventure
July 30th was a wonderful adventure. After mass and a quick stop at my work, we headed out towards Golden Hill. We finally made it to the Golden Hill State Park's Lighthouse when it was open for tours. The kids were a little sad that it wasn't what they thought was a super high light house, but after climbing the 60 steps they seemed to understand that it wasn't exactly small either. We could see Toronto from the top, and spotted a young Bald Eagle flying past. Little Matthew had his first experience up on a Lighthouse.
The stairs are very cool, and the thick brick walls with inset windows reminded me of some scenes from a movie in a castle. The kids made use of the local playground also which they found quite fun. But alas we had to get going, as I wanted to take them to the Medina Railway Museum as well.
We made it just in time, and I believe everyone had an enjoyable time there. The model railroad is very cool, and all of the kids loved playing with the buttons and looking for some of the items in the acavenger hunt.
On the way back, we stopped at Manito Taco Shop in Wrights Corners. I do love this place. There was some complaining because Mexican wasn't everyone's favorite, but in the end I think everyone found it an enjoyable experience. This isn't like Taco Bell. This is the real deal.
On the way home, we stopped at Gratwick Park so the kids could burn off some energy on the playground. That was a generally enjoyable experience also. All in all, a few 'firsts' were experienced this trip, and some good fun.
