Roadwolf's portal for his random thoughts and ponderings

I do not understand the idea that globalism is a good thing. Maybe this is an understanding that I have developed as I have matured, and seen the value in preserving our own unique culture and identity. When I was younger, I will admit that I did wonder why we couldn't have a global community. I even began writing a story about how the United States began forcefully taking over every country in the world, in order to unite the world as one nation. The more I thought about it however, the more it seemed to be a terrible idea. Rampaging through another country, destroying its culture and tradition, in order to force your own culture and traditions upon other people doesn't sound very nice. So why should we allow ourselves to submit to globalization? It will in effect do the same for us here in the states. The story I was writing, never got too far. I found that it ended up being a terrible idea.

Other people, and cultures aren't so understanding and accepting of unique viewpoints however. This is one thing we must understand. The Radical Islamic culture which has been growing and spreading like wildfire over the past 20 years, has been very dangerous in terms of cultural revolution. I don't want to harp on this, as I have in previous posts, but people should recognize the cultural threat that this poses.

To conclude this post, I would suggest that everyone consider the fact that human beings are just animals. We are in effect meaningless in the grand scheme of existence. Our only purpose is to survive and reproduce. Eventually our species will go extinct. And chances are there no other intelligent life will even be aware of our existence. Our achievements as a species, and the things we value are truly meaningless in the long run. They do not matter once we are gone. So why fight against your fellow countrymen over some revolution, or some idea? Wouldn't it be better to try to get along, and try to communicate and work in harmony with your fellow human beings, as opposed to fighting a futile fight against them? There will always be people with differing ideas and opinions. This is why having many countries, and many cultures is a good thing. It allows us to have differences.
