Farewell IMVU

Blog and Journal

IMVU has been a community which I have been involved in on and off for almost ten years now. Originally, I found it to be a great place to roleplay as a wild wolf, it became a lovely social environment for myself. Some of the people I met there had profound impacts on how my journey in life played out.

The 'Valley' was my original room. A GA (General Audience) room, focused on nature and a relaxing environment. It went by Scajaquada Valley for most of it's life, but was also known as Algonquin Valley and Furry Valley.

It was a lovely room which did become quite popular, reaching 19,800+ unique visitors. Nearly 20k. For a while it was a featured room in IMVU as well.

There were many animals scattered around the room. Sometimes I would challenge people to find them all. I believe there were 17 species in all. A good variety for people to hunt if they were wolves.

The main social places in the room were the Den in the middle of the pond (or specifically the log and rock outcrop outside the Den), and also the bonfire.

It was a room where many memories were made, and the place always gave me a relaxed vibe.

The other main room was my Lofty Lair. It was my Lifestyle themed apartment, and I decorated it in a classy manner which differs from most 'Lifestyle' themed stuff on IMVU. Typically it was just a lounge for conversation, advice and guidance.

IMVU has changed a bit since then however. There are few decent roleplayers on there, who are actually interested in formulating detailed written RP. And so few people actually want to converse now. It is just time to abandon that part of my life. Goodbye IMVU.
